Kisiwa House

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Exceptional Stay at Kisiwa House

Kisiwa House is an absolute gem! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for. The hospitality was unmatched, with the warm smiles from the team making me feel at home immediately. I was greeted with a refreshing hibiscus juice and cool face towel, a perfect way to unwind after a long journey.

The hotel’s historic charm is incredible—original stone walls, antique furniture, Persian rugs, and brass fixtures transport you back in time while offering all the comforts of modern luxury. Staying here felt like living inside a part of Stone Town’s history! I also loved hearing the fascinating story about "Bibi wa Darini," the rooftop grandmother. It gave the place a beautiful, personal touch.

The suites are spacious and spotless, with attention to detail in every corner. I stayed in one of their Burdani rooms and had a chance to visit the Sulaima suites—every room was beautifully maintained, cozy, and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the amenities, including the freshwater bottles and tea-making facilities, were well thought out.

One of my favorite moments was breakfast at the Darini Rooftop Restaurant. The view over the vibrant rooftops of Stone Town was breathtaking, and the meals were prepared with "fresh market ingredients", adding a delightful local touch to every dish. Their "from market to table" philosophy ensures each dish is as authentic as it is delicious.

The location couldn’t be better—Kisiwa House sits right in the heart of Stone Town, making it an excellent base to explore the city’s treasures. The management team was incredibly helpful, always available to assist with restaurant recommendations, sightseeing tips, and local experiences.

If you’re looking for a boutique hotel that combines history, luxury, and exceptional service, look no further. I highly recommend Kisiwa House for anyone visiting Zanzibar. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s an experience you’ll cherish forever.

Thank you, Kisiwa House, for an unforgettable experience—I’ll definitely be back!

Kisiwa House

Tranquil Atmosphere and Personalized Experience

Kisiwa House has a serene and intimate vibe, ideal for guests seeking peace amidst the hustle and bustle of Stone Town. Unlike large hotels, the boutique setting allows for personalized service. It felt like staying at a luxurious home away from home, where every guest is treated with individual care.

The location couldn’t be better! Kisiwa House is tucked right in the heart of Stone Town, within walking distance of the main attractions like Forodhani Gardens and the Old Fort. It's perfect for exploring the narrow streets, enjoying local markets, and soaking in the coastal atmosphere.

Kisiwa on the beach

Beautifully serene!

The hotel is meticulously maintained and the service is excellent. The staff are kind, friendly, and helpful, and the spa was just phenomenal. I had the body scrub with massage. My skin was left very moisturized and smooth for days. When I visited in September, Kisiwa was beautifully serene. Truly a must visit. I will be returning!

Kisiwa on the Beach

Dream hotel with icing sugar beach

One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. To 10. On our wedding day we travelled to Tanzania and stayed here a week as a conclusion after a 6 day safari. The grounds are super well maintained, gardeners take care of the beautiful plants. There are wonderful comfortable loungers on the beach and also by the pool. The individual houses are built at a good distance from each other and very tastefully decorated. There are very nice and soft beds with mosquito nets. But the highlight for me was the restaurant and the staff on the whole grounds (not only in the restaurant). A friendliness rarely found. You really feel like a warmly welcomed friend after a day and not just as a stranger. Whether waiter, pool boy, gardener or staff from the reception all greetings and are super nice and often ready for a small or large small talk. And all this not put on but really lived.

The location itself is a dream that you have here a white beach that looks like icing sugar.
The sandy beach is even freed of kelp every day and security fits on that you are not annoyed by passing traders, but this happens rather rarely. Perfectly turquoise water. In short, an absolute dream location for people who are looking for relaxation, cleanliness, peace and perfect service.
