Kisiwa House

Wonderful Hotel

From the moment we walked in, the staff was wonderful and friendly. The history of this 170 year old hotel is amazing. The updated bathroom mixes well with the historic rooms. The restaurant on the rooftop is delightful and the food choices were excellent.

Kisiwa House

Absolute recommendation for Stone Town

We had a fantastic stay at Kisiwa House! From the exceptionally warm arrival to the check-out, the team showed an incredibly friendly and attentive side.

The house itself is tastefully decorated, you can feel the genuine and authentic charm of Zanzibar architecture in every room. Cleanliness is very important throughout the hotel.

The location was also absolutely convincing. You walk a few minutes to great places along the beach and also the old town with its many shops starts just steps from the front door of Kisiwa House. Yet here you have the feeling of absolute peace and security.

The stay was really exceptional and I would recommend the Kisiwa House to anyone and immediately book it myself.

Thanks for this wonderful stay!

Kisiwa on the beach

Second time back… gets better every year!

What a beautiful place! All villas spread out in the landscaped grounds. Direct access to the beach and big pool. Has a boutique feel where all staff know you personally by name.
What makes this place so special? So many things but the staff are just amazing! They really care about you, will spend time chatting, attentive but not overbearing.
Quiet but situated near all the beach bars, location is perfect. Beach is just WOW!
Food, we stayed 8 days, had a buffet on 2 occasions where lobster was grilled, the rest was a 4 course meal with 3/4 different selections at each course. I am a “foodie” and am normally reluctant to have half board as I like to eat at different restaurants throughout my holiday. Last year I was half board and was so happy I kept it the same this year. Did not have a bad meal, everyone delicious and beautifully presented.
I wouldn’t change a thing about this place. Tip - book direct, the price includes half board and is cheaper.
I will be back, how could I not return to Paradise and perfection!

Kisiwa on the Beach

Small boutique hotel with children.

Travel agent review:
I know almost every hotel on the island and I often get questionable about which hotel is perfect. Kisiwa is perfect for me and I like to tell you why:
1.) Location: directly on the beach, you always have sea views, beautiful beach section without bathing shoes, quiet (less kiter than directly in Paje) but still 10 min walk to the Paje hotspots.
2.) detached large villas, cozy bed, huge bathroom, lots of privacy, with children and yet quiet. One of the few boutique hotels WITH kids and it works 😊
3.) Culinary highlights at any time of the day
4.) the incredibly attentive staff, from the heart and not intrusive
Here everyone really wants YOU to have an unforgettable time and you can tell from the beginning!

I was here in 2016 and 2017 and the hotel is not standing still and has gotten better again on a high end level! Oh, hell!
Thanks to everyone for this lovely time and the feeling of being able to arrive here as a friend and not as a tourist.
